Solo traveler's cozy find
I liked how the bunk beds had privacy curtains, and honestly, the white noise from the fan helped me sleep better than I thought it would. Bob, the owner, was friendly and helpful. He even recommended some local spots to check out.
It wasn't the cheapest option out there, but it was still reasonable.

I had a fun time at the hostel, especially when I got a new bunk after expressing my concerns to the friendly staff, who quickly found a safer spot for me. The sauna and sun terrace were great relaxation spots after a long day exploring. A bit of dust in the corners was noticeable, but it didn't ruin my overall experience 😊

The common areas were cozy and inviting, and we loved how we could relax and unwind together. Shared our bunk bed in a mixed dorm with my daughter, and it felt surprisingly private and comfy.
My kids wished there were more bathrooms available for families.

quiet stay but limited amenities
The dorm setup promoted a nothing noisy, awesome for restful sleep throughout the night. The bed was surprisingly comfortable with adequate space despite the curtained off design.
The amenities were sparse, which left a bit to be desired.

The hostel has a great vibe with friendly staff and interesting patrons. The amenities, including the jacuzzi and sauna, were cool. The owner was easygoing and accommodating, even providing a spot for my trailer. The beds were set up nicely with individual lockers and curtains for privacy. It was a nostalgic stay and I would love to come back with a group of friends to fully enjoy the area.
Felt very at home, no complaints.

My stay at the Hostel Du Nord was really fun! The nostalgic vibes and wooden bed frames made for a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were super cool and the entire place was spotlessly clean. And access to a sauna was a total bonus!
The breakfast offerings could be improved with a greater variety of food.

From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, the vibrant and welcoming vibe of the place was undeniable. The staff and fellow guests were incredibly friendly and made my stay enjoyable. Plus, the amenities like the jacuzzi and sauna were a fantastic bonus that added to the overall experience.
The price of the hotel was quite steep compared to other options. While the place offered a great experience, it was hard to justify the cost when one could get a hotel room for a similar price.

I stayed at Hostel Du Nord for nostalgia purposes, reminiscing about my first hostel experience back in 1987. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the colorful stairs and the friendly staff. The lobby had a great vibe, and the amenities like the jacuzzi and sauna were a bonus. The staff and other guests were all welcoming and interesting. I appreciated the personal touch of the proprietor taking the time to chat with us and offer tips. Another highlight was the fresh Duluth Coffee Company in the morning, and having ear plugs available at the front desk.
Strongly recommend this hotel.
